First and foremost, the term “boogie board” is actually a brand of board, not a unique product design. Therefore you can use boogie boards for both regular bodyboarding and drop-knee bodyboarding. In fact, most people refer to bodyboards as boogie boards and use them as synonyms.
The boogie board, originally invented by Tom Morey, now sells under the name the Morey bodyboard. But Morey has trademarked the name “Boogie Board”. Therefore other manufacturers are not allowed to use Boogie Board. This can be confusing, but finally, they all talk about the same product for the same usage.
